India Delivery, Built for Japan Compliance

One delivery center in Coimbatore. Built from day one around Japan's cross-border data rules.

Our Coimbatore delivery center exists for one reason: to give Japanese enterprises a dedicated, India-based delivery center they can run as their own. APPI's cross-border transfer requirements, bilingual delivery, and Japanese business communication norms are being designed into our engagement model from day one — not bolted on after a generic offshore template gets localized.

Why This Model Exists

Delivering from India for a Japanese client is a compliance decision before it's a staffing decision

The most common failure mode we see in offshore engagements serving Japanese enterprises isn't technical — it's contractual and cultural. A delivery team gets staffed based on availability and cost, and only after data starts flowing between Japan and India does anyone ask whether APPI's consent and cross-border transfer safeguards are actually in place, or whether the reporting cadence matches what a Japanese client's internal audit function expects. By then, unwinding it is expensive and slow.

KERP Technologies is designed to structure every Japan Desk engagement in the opposite order: the compliance posture and communication model determined before the team is staffed. That means confirming the APPI-aligned transfer mechanism for data moving from Japan to our India facility in advance, and only then assembling a delivery team whose language capability and reporting discipline are consistent with that determination.

Japan Compliance & Delivery Framework

The obligations and norms we build into every engagement

Cross-Border Data Transfer

APPI

Because client data typically originates in Japan, our engagement model is designed so that any transfer to our India facility follows Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) — including the consent and contractual safeguards APPI requires when personal data leaves Japan.

Delivery Center Infrastructure

AWS/Azure India

Dedicated Coimbatore facility infrastructure by default, with transfer-specific technical safeguards — such as encryption in transit and at rest — applied to any data that moves from Japan to India as part of delivery.

Business Communication & Quality

Bilingual報連相

Client-facing engineers assessed for business Japanese fluency, with status reporting built around the hōrensō (報連相) discipline of report, contact, and consult that Japanese enterprise stakeholders expect as standard practice.

Subcontracting Compliance

Subcontract Act

Where KERP Technologies delivers as a subcontracted partner to a Japanese prime contractor, engagement terms are structured in line with Japan's Act Against Delay in Payment of Subcontract Proceeds (下請代金支払遅延等防止法) — documented scope, payment terms, and no unilateral scope changes.

Delivery Center Infrastructure

One facility in Coimbatore, built around Japan-specific requirements

Compliance obligations are only as good as the infrastructure that enforces them. Rather than staffing Japan engagements out of a shared, general-purpose offshore bench, KERP Technologies operates a dedicated Coimbatore facility, designed around the APPI transfer safeguards, bilingual staffing, and reporting cadence Japanese clients require.

This extends to how we plan to place delivery teams: a Japanese client would never be routed to a generalist offshore team assembled after the fact — engagements are intended to be staffed from a dedicated Japan Desk team from the outset, with APPI-aligned transfer safeguards and bilingual delivery treated as a single staffing constraint, not two separate conversations.

Delivery Governance

How cross-border data handling and reporting are governed in practice

Every engagement is designed to begin with a documented data-transfer assessment — identifying the data categories involved, the APPI-aligned transfer mechanism and consent basis, and any supplementary technical measures required, such as encryption keys and access scoping for data moving from Japan to the India facility.

Subprocessors are disclosed and tracked per engagement, not bundled into a generic vendor list — if a managed hosting provider or a specialized QA partner touches client data as part of delivery, that relationship is documented alongside our own staff access, with the same visibility made available to the client's compliance team on request.
