Offshore Development Center — Japan Desk

A dedicated Coimbatore engineering team, under Tier-1 security, built specifically to serve Japanese enterprises.

Our ODC is a Japan-dedicated practice, not a generic offshore bench: one delivery center in Coimbatore, India — staffed by a culturally aligned, bilingual engineering team, designed around Japan's APPI cross-border transfer requirements, and built for long-term partnership rather than short-term, high-cost engagements — that our Japanese clients can use as their own delivery center in India.

Physical & Network Security

Real security controls in Coimbatore, not a shared coworking floor

The single most common failure in offshore delivery isn't code quality — it's the assumption that "offshore" means a shared floor of desks with a badge reader at the front door. Our Coimbatore delivery center runs on biometric access control, continuous CCTV coverage, and network firewall protection — because the intellectual property moving through it deserves the same treatment as the systems it eventually gets deployed into.

Biometric Facility Access

Multi-factor biometric entry controls access to the delivery floor, backed by documented physical security procedures and access logs.

CCTV Surveillance

Continuous camera coverage across the delivery facility, available for review whenever a client engagement requires it.

Network Firewall Protection

Perimeter and network firewall security protects client data and delivery infrastructure from unauthorized access, with rules maintained against each engagement's own risk profile.

Engagement Models

Built for a long-term relationship, not a short-term, high-cost project

We turn away work that only makes sense as a one-off, high-margin engagement. The ODC is structured around clients who want a delivery center they can grow into over years, not a vendor they renegotiate with every quarter.

Long-Term Partnership

Pricing and staffing models are built around multi-year relationships — the incentive is your continuity and growth, not maximizing billing on a single project.

Build Your Own Dedicated Team

Clients recruit and build their own dedicated team inside our Coimbatore facility, hiring against their specific technical and domain needs — KERP Technologies handles HR, infrastructure, and compliance overhead so your team stays focused on delivery.

R&D Center Hosting

Clients can host a dedicated R&D function inside our facility — your own innovation team, operating within KERP Technologies's Coimbatore infrastructure, under your direction and reporting lines.

Build-Operate-Transfer

KERP Technologies stands up and operates the center for an agreed period, then transfers the team, infrastructure, and operational playbook directly to your organization.

Dedicated Infrastructure

No multi-tenant mixing, ever

Every ODC engagement runs on dedicated network infrastructure — segmented VLANs with no cross-client traffic, client-specific VPN or MPLS connectivity where required, and hardware or virtualized environments that are never shared across accounts. This isn't a premium tier we reserve for the largest engagements; it's the baseline architecture, because the alternative — cost savings from shared infrastructure — introduces exactly the kind of cross-contamination risk that enterprise security review exists to catch.

Because client data typically originates in Japan, our delivery model is designed so that cross-border transfer to our India facility follows Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) as the default baseline, not an add-on — consent handling, the transfer safeguards APPI requires when personal data leaves Japan, and breach notification timelines are built into how we plan to run delivery from the first sprint.

Talent Pipeline

How we source, assess, and retain the team on your engagement

  1. 01

    Technical sourcing

Candidates are sourced from Indian engineering talent — university partnerships and direct hire in Coimbatore — against the specific technology stack (SAP, .NET, cloud-native, AI/ML) the engagement requires, not a generalist bench staffed after the fact.

  2. 02

    Bilingual & cultural alignment assessment

Every client-facing engineer is assessed for business Japanese/English fluency (JLPT N2 or higher) and trained on Japanese business norms — consensus-building (nemawashi), quality consciousness, and reporting etiquette — not just language, so the team fits how a Japanese organization actually works, not just what it says.

  3. 03

    Client-shadowed final interview

For dedicated-team engagements, client stakeholders participate directly in the final interview round — the hiring decision is shared, not delegated entirely to KERP Technologies.

  4. 04

    Structured onboarding

A two-week ramp covering the client's codebase, architecture decisions, and delivery cadence, paired with a senior engineer, before the new hire owns delivery independently.

  5. 05

    Retention program

Defined technical career ladders, dedicated learning budget, and engagement-continuity incentives — offshore attrition is the single biggest risk to a multi-year ODC, and it's managed as a first-class metric, not an afterthought.

IP Protection

Intellectual property protection, by architecture, not just contract

Contractual NDAs are table stakes and every engagement has them — but a signature doesn't stop exfiltration, so the protection model is built into the environment itself. Source code repositories are access-scoped per engagement with no standing cross-project permissions, all code and build access is logged, and clean-room development practices are enforced wherever an engineer transitions between engagements with overlapping domains.

Where KERP Technologies is engaged as a delivery partner to a Japanese prime contractor, our subcontracting practices are run in line with Japan's Act Against Delay in Payment of Subcontract Proceeds (下請代金支払遅延等防止法) — clear scope documentation and payment terms, no unilateral scope changes without a corresponding contract amendment.
